Making sure you have the right meter

The correct size of meter is important for ensuring accurate billing and sufficient water supply without overpaying for capacity.

Why resize your meter

The size of your non-domestic water meter determines the maximum allowable flow rate of water into your premises, affects water pressure and dictates the fixed standing charges on your water bills. If your meter is larger that necessary for your needs, you might be able to lower your costs by resizing your meter.

If your water use has changed a lot since you had your meter installed, it’s worth checking to see if you have the correct meter size fitted. Download our application form to apply for a meter resize. Please make sure you’ve read our guidance notes on the form to help you complete your application.

Automated Meter Readers

An Automated Meter Reader (AMR) is a device fitted to your site's water meter that monitors water use by taking readings every 15 minutes. These are automatically transmitted onto the AMR portal, Utility Manager.

In just a few simple steps, you can access detailed data for your site(s), understand your water usage patterns and quickly identify spikes in consumption that could indicate a leak. Our team of experts will also monitor this data and alert you to any potential issues, helping you save on unnecessary costs.

If you'd like to find out whether an AMR would be right for your site, just complete the form and one of our experts will be in touch.
