Water stewardship

Water is one of our most precious resources. It’s easy to take it for granted, but behind every product, service and supply chain is a hidden water footprint. We help businesses raise awareness and nurture behavioural change.

Reduce risk, increase resilience

Water stewardship in the face of climate change is gaining in strategic importance for many organisations. In addition to supporting environmental goals and demonstrating leadership, an effective culture of water stewardship helps to reduce water-related risk and increase resilience. We support our customers with the provision of a clear framework to understand their water use and infrastructure across their estate and to identify and deliver savings.

Accredited training

Our Certified Water Steward Programme, accredited by the European Water Stewardship (EWS) Standard, is a premium mentoring and support programme which provides businesses with a structured approach to integrating water stewardship practices into operational business activities. The programme includes peer-to-peer learning, facilitated webinars and a final report-out. All participants prepare a Water Charter for their facility during the course of the programme.

Efficiency is key

Water stewardship embraces the efficient use of water. As well as conserving this precious natural resource, saving water also leads to lower bills. We provide our customers with an extensive portfolio of services to help them achieve their goals in water efficiency and neutrality.

Water scarcity

Increased demand and environmental factors are putting pressure on already stretched UK water resources. This represents a substantial risk for many organisations. We understand the importance of maintaining a continuous water supply.

Our emergency planning and response includes:

  • Emergency tankers or bowsers.
  • Bottled water deliveries.
  • Overland mains connections.
  • Site-specific contingency plans.
  • Advice on risk mitigation.

Committed to making a positive difference

As a water supplier, we know we play an important role in helping our customers meet their environmental ambitions. However, we also passionately believe in leading by example. That’s why we launched our vision to make a positive difference in September 2019, centered around the four areas that matter most to us: our customers, our people, the environment and our local communities.
